Airlines into Tobago

Trinidad and Tobago are well served with excellent direct scheduled flight links from Europe, North America and the Caribbean region.

British Airways (BA)

British Airways offer direct flights to Tobago on Thursdays and Saturdays, via Antigua . They also offered a third, Monday, service over the winter months (1 November to 23 March).The BA service utilizes a Boeing 777 aircraft carrying 260 passengers in a three class configuration - standard economy (World Traveler), premium/super economy (World Traveler Plus) and business class (World Club). Flights operate from London Gatwick North.

 

Caribbean Airlines

Caribbean Airlines (formerly BWIA), is the national airline. They offer direct flights to Trinidad from London Gatwick, codeshare with British Airways. 

Excel Airways

Excel Airways offers a popular and highly-affordable charter service to Tobago.Excel offer two regular weekly services to Tobago:  on Thursdays and Saturdays. During the peak winter months, they also offer a Sunday flight.The Excel flights operate from London Gatwick South terminal. The service uses a Boeing 767 aircraft carrying 281 passengers, in a two-class configuration of standard economy and Excel One (business) class.Flight-only tickets for the Excel service can be obtained by booking online from the Excel Airways site at

Virgin Atlantic

Virgin Atlantic operate a non-stop service to Tobago on Thursdays.  Virgin flights operate from London Gatwick South.The Virgin service utilizes a Boeing 747-400 carrying 439 passengers in a three-class configuration; standard economy, premium economy and Upper Class (with super-doper Upper Class suites).Flight tickets are available directly from Virgin Atlantic.

 

Condor

Condor is part of the Thomas Cook Group. The airline provides a year-round twice-weekly (Wednesday & Sunday) non-stop direct service to Tobago from Frankfurt, with return via Porlamar (Isla Margarita, Venezuela).The Condor service utilizes a Boeing 767 in two-class configuration - tourist class and comfort class.

 

 

Martin air

Martin air offer a weekly service from Amsterdam.The flights depart and return to Schiphol airport. The outbound flight is via Porlamar (Isla Margarita, Venezuela) but the return from Tobago is non-stop.The Martinair service utilizes a Boeing 767-300 carrying 272 passengers in a three class configuration of Economy and Star class, plus a Comfort class.

 

American Airlines (AA)

American Airlines offer twice-daily non-stop flights to Port of Spain, Trinidad (POS) from Miami (MIA), with inter-city connections from New York (LGA) and Washington (BWI) and other departure points. There are no services directly into Tobago.Passengers arriving on the second flight of the day will need to overnight at the airport or in Port Of Spain. The AA flight arrives too late to catch the last Tobago Express air bridge transfer to Tobago.The service utilizes a Boeing 767 in three class configuration. American Airlines also offer daily direct flights between Port of Spain and San Juan, Puerto Rico.

 

Caribbean Airlines

Offers a range of non-stop services to Trinidad from North America. Most services are via Trinidad but there is now a daily direct flight to Tobago from Miami, a Thursday direct flight from Washington and a daily (except Sundays) direct flight from New York.
The flights can be summarised as follows:

  • Miami (MIA) – direct to Tobago, via Trinidad, with connection from Chicago.
  • New York (JFK) – non-stop or via Barbados.
  • Toronto (YYZ) – non-stop or via Barbados.
    • Washington (IAD) – non-stop direct flight to Tobago, plus flights to Trinidad direct or via Barbados. Timed for United Airlines connections from Boston, Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle.

All North American flights are aboard Boeing 737 aircraft in a conventional three-class configuration.

Continental Airlines

Continental Airlines offer flights to Port of Spain, Trinidad (POS) from Newark (EWR) and Houston (IAH). All flights from Houston are non-stop and also some of the flights from Newark, although others are via Houston.The service is provided in a Boeing 738 in a two class configuration. There are connecting flights from various other airports.

Delta Air Lines
 
Delta Airlines has a new service into Trinidad from Atlanta, plus a new weekly service flying directly into Tobago from Atlanta, offering cheap inaugural fares from 2008!
 

TravelSpan

TravelSpan offers non-stop and direct morning and midnight service to Trinidad from North America, with daily service from John F Kennedy International Airport in New York and twice weekly service from Hollywood International Airport in Ft Lauderdale.

G.G.Tours operate a weekly charter flight between Toronto and Port Of Spain , Trinidad. A wide-body Boeing 767-300ER aircraft with economy and premium seating and 140lbs per person baggage allowance is offered to passengers.www.ggtours.ca

A guide to airline services to Tobago within the Caribbean region

In addition to the main regional carriers, Caribbean Airlines, Caribbean Star and LIAT, a number of small charter airlines operate inter-island services.

Caribbean Airlines 

Direct services to Tobago from  Trinidad, at weekends and peak periods only.The airline also offers a wide range of regional services to Port Of Spain from Antigua, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican, Jamaica, Guyana, St. Maarten and Suriname.

Caribbean Star

Caribbean Star is a small regional airline offering over 80 daily flights serving 15 destinations.This airline offers direct services between Tobago and Grenada and Barbados with connecting flights to various other Caribbean destinations. 

LIAT

LIAT is a regional airline serving 20 destinations in the Eastern Caribbean, from the Dominican Republic in the north to Guyana in the south. Antigua is LIAT's home base and principle hub.LIAT offer direct flights to Tobago from Barbados via Grenada, this leaves Barbados (BGI) at 17:10hrs and arrives in Tobago, via Grenada, at 18:50hrs. The flight is timed for valid connections from the northern islands (St. Thomas, Tortola, St. Maarten, St. Kitts, Anguilla , Antigua & Barbuda , Dominica , Guadeloupe , Martinique and St. Lucia).

A guide to airline services between Trinidad and Tobago

Caribbean Airlines runs the airbridge service between Trinidad (Piarco, Port of Spain ), and Tobago 's Crown Point airport.The current inter-island flight schedule indicates twelve flights per day in each direction, operating between 6:00am and 9:15pm from Piarco and from 6:40am to 9:55pm from Crown Point. 

Entry Requirements

Entry requirements for US citizens and European Union residents visiting Trinidad and Tobago (T&T) on vacation or business travel consists of a passport - valid for 3 months longer than your intended stay - tickets and documents for return or onward travel.
Visas are not required for US citizens or European Union residents visiting for up to three months, however, if you are traveling to T&T for employment, adoption, study or immigration please contact your local T&T consulate or embassy.

Other non-visa nationals include:
• Citizens of Commonwealth countries, with the exception of Australia, India, New Zealand, Nigeria, Papua New Guinea, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Uganda, and South Africa.
• Citizens of countries that have visa agreements with Trinidad and Tobago, i.e.: Turkey, Norway, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Israel, Brazil, Colombia, South Korea – once visiting as tourists for no longer than 3 months

• Venezuelan tourists, arriving from Venezuela, visiting T&T for a maximum of two weeks.

• Citizens of Suriname, Martinique, Guadeloupe, French Guyana, and The Netherlands

• All holders of OAS passports

• Seamen and airline crew, regardless of nationality, arriving in T&T to join their ships, or are in transit to meet their airline for a return trip

Holders of UN passports do require visas. In addition, holders of Diplomatic Passports are not automatically exempted from visa restrictions. If in doubt, contact your nearest Trinidad and Tobago Consulate or Diplomatic Mission.
Persons entering the country from an area infected with Yellow Fever within a 5 day period will need to present a vaccination certificate to immigration officials.
